PURELY PERSONAL Mrs Lucy Sherrod, of High Point, is visiting Mrs. R. H. Burnette, in the city. Rsv. D. H. Petre, of LaGrange, was in the city Saturday and paid The Record office a pleasant call. He was on his way to Jamesville to preach in the Christian church. Mrs. D. W. Rowland left Monday for Jacksonville, Fla., on a visit to her son who has appendicitis. Dr. H. B. Marriott, of Battleboro, was in theflfcity last Friday night. Mr. A. P. Thorpe went to Raleigh Friday on business; Mr. J. W. Hines went to Durham, Friday, to attend a meeting of ice dealers of the State. Messrs. F. P. Veitch and E. R. Boyle of Washington, D. C., were in the city for a few days last week on a visit to Prof. W. V. Boyle. Mrs. Watkins, of Farmville, is the guest of Mrs. W. V. Boyle in the city. Dr. I. M. Mercer returned Tuesday night from Weldon. Mrs. J. W. Higgs, of Greenville, after a visit in the city, returned home Monday. Messrs. P. L. Easterling and Alder son spent Sunday in Washington, D. C.
