PURELY PERSONAL. Mr. C. F. Getsinger spent Sunday in Tarboro. $ Mrs. E. Y. Cox and Miss Mary Hol lowell spent Monday in Tarboro. Mrs. W. W. White is visiting her sis ter, Mrs. J. W. Mason, in the city. Miss Mamie Hales, of Wilson, came to visit relatives in this city, Friday. Misses Addie Hunt and Annie Whit " field have returned to the city from visiting in Tarboro. Mr. Marion Burnette, of Hobgood, spent Thursday night with Mr. B. H. Burnette of this city. Mr. J. D. Blount returned yesteid iy from the northern markets where h' has been to buy stock. Miss Kate Brown, representative ot the Oxford Orphan's Friends, was ir the city Monday nit ht. • Mr. J. D. Blount left Thursday for New York to buy stock for the Blourt Company's large store. Mr. J. H, Daniel returned Wednes day from a business trip to New York, Philadelphia and Baltimore. Mr. and Mrs. W. P. Parrish, of Dukep. spent Friday night in the city with the family of Mr. Z. A. Parrish. Mrs. R. L. Huffines and Mrs. J. P. ■Whitehead spent Saturday in Tarboro, the guest of Mrs. H. S. Bunn. Miss Elizabeth Bryan who has been visiting the Misses Burnette, has re turned to her home in Greenville. Mr. Richard Fountain, of the local bar, went to Fountains, Pitt county, Tuesday, on professional business. Rev. R. B. Owens went to Raleigh Tuesday, where he conducted the ser vice in Christ church in the evening. Dr. I. M. Mercer went to Wilson Friday to visit Rev. J. T. Jenkins, pas tor of the Baptist church at that place. Mrs. J. M. Paughtry has returned from a visit to Raleigh, accompanied by Mrs* Ivan M. Proctor, who will visit her. Mr. C. H. Hafris, city clerk and tax collector for Rocky Mount, was taken to the hospital in Richmond, Va., Tues day, for an operation for appendicitis. Mr. O. Cuthrell, who has been living in New Bern, is spending a few days with his brother, Mr. J. A. Cuthrell, in this city, and will go to Franklin, Va., to make his home, Mr. E. B. Lewis, of Kinaton, was in the city for a few hours Monday, en route to Washington, D. C. where his duties as secretary to Congressman Claud Kitchin called him. The Rocky Mount b igh School team and the Dunn High School team wLI play ball this afternoon on the locals' grounds, the game to be calk d at 3:45. The Dunn boys are fast and good sport is anticipated. Admission is 25 cents.
