Of «41 questions that agitate and should agitat« iJie nitidg «veiy fanner^ is the ««e of filling the ‘smokehouse with meat for th« ,50*n ihg year. Mow theie are many farmers who sKre ekher nnfortnnate or do not '^uropea^ly manage along this line. ^Some «v«n say ’tis cheaper to raise ^lobacco, etc.-, and bay stuffs, '^his is surely falsejreasonii^. Of course, there are disad vantages— choiera and many other disasters may uccur during the yea.r. Meet every discouragement with a strong determiuation to conquer mext time. Cholera is so often ««iuedby improper treatment—un> iieaithy ranges and poor food large ly tend to hinder healthy conditions Witit hams at 16c, pork at I2i and lard the prospects for the wise And fortunate farmer are above par.
