SOCIAL HAPPENINGS With Mr*. MorrUette 1 jfh* Students Wesley Bible ! jMss of City Road Church mot I ?{??day night at the home of I Mw. M. O. Morrist tte on North Road street. Groap No. One *?? in charge of the program. Mrs. J. L. Liverman read the scttp ture lesson and Mrs. X. II. O'Neal made a talk on "Reading and Studying the Bible." The pastor. Rot. Daniel Lane, led in prayer, after which the roll was' called with 39 members and one visitor present. The different committees made splendid re port*. The secretary and the treasurer made a report on the year's work. Eighteen new mem bers had been added to the roll and |397. 37 had been raised. Four families were provided with baskets Christmas, and more work hat* i been done In sending flotrehs to the sick and visiting the sick and shut-ins than ever before. During th? summer months picnics ara given and an annual banquet is given in Feb? ruary, which helps the social work. The most important work ? is ftfrniehing teachers for the' Sunday School. Plans were dis cussed: for the work to be done in 1925 and Mr. Lane and Mr. Sey ffert made interesting talks on the work done by the class. The ffljjpwlng officers were elected : M; F. Sanders. perJntendents of social service >rk. Mr. Seyffert closed the jeeting with a prayer, after which the hostesses served deli cious refreshments and a social hour was enjoyed.
