A fire broke oat here on Friday last, which commenced in a building on Main street, destroying a drug store, a dry goods establishment and an extensive silversmith store, besides some seven or eight other buildings. A large amount of valuable goods removed to the streets also took fire and burnt up. The total loss is estimated at 960,000- Gray & Toddt in whose confectionary the fire oceosred, sustained a loss of 810,000. but insured.
