G. ltoper and daughter, Miss Mablo, aro expecting to h-ave this week for a visit to Norfolk aud other poigts of interest. Mr. Will Blount a merfhaut of ltoper, and Miss Wood ley, of Berkley, were niar f ted last Wednesday and are off to Wash ington. D. The interment took place at the family burying ground on the estate of Mr. V. C. Weede, near town, on Saturday afternoon, lievs. Allford aud Smith conducting the services. After a long and fatiguing illness, at her homo in this town on Monday night last, Mrs. J. K. Padgett. Airs, Padgett was well known in this section, having been engaged in the millinery business here for several years, She was a devoted member of the Christian Church, and leaves a husband, two children and many friends to mourn her death.
