EDITOR:-- I desire space in your valuable paper to say a f e vv words relative to the candidate to be nominated and elected to fill the various offices of our co unty by the democratic party. I noticed in tho last issue of the beacon some one suggesting name- to the public as they .be lieved to be suitable. And i n glancing over the list I failed to find the name of our , respected apd worthy Citizen one vho has been tested and tried in evfcry particular whose location places him in the best position to fill the office if elected' tc the best advan tage of Register of Deeds of any man I know of if it marriage li cense you want day or night or an important paper you want re corded at once, if he is not in his office, just step across the street from the court house and you will find Mr. F R. And I believe the democratic par ty will make, a' mistake if they fail to ran him, As Mr. Johnston has a host-of friends in our coun--ty that will support him as they would no- other candidate now. . I have nothing to say against Mn Swain as I do not even know him, perhaps he is a great and good man but all things being equal 1 believe Mr. Johnston would make the strongest run in fact if he is nominated his elec--$pn is sure. - Now as to the other candidates I believe Cap.t.
