Gilmer, on Washington street. Dr. A. W. Disosway, after a 4- sojourn e of several weeks at Nags ( Head and other places, returned ,' home Saturday last. Mess Gary and Jack Campbell, who have been visiting relatives in Weldon and Rocky Mount, have returned home. Mrs. Laura Harney, who has Wn vi si finer her sister, Mrs. J. M. Horton, has returned to her home in Norfolk, Va. Misses Laura Smith and Bettie Avers left on Friday lastjor Dur ham, where they have gone to enter the Conservatory oi music. Mrs. Laura M. Latham, who has been spending some time with her daughter, Mrs. b. V, Clough, at Franklin, Va, has re turned home. Mr. D. II. Clark who has been spending some time in the moun tains of this state, returned home on Tuesday, and we are pleased to note, much improved m health. Misses Lula Skiles and Bessie VanNortwick, who have been visiting friends and relatives in the vicinity of Swains, returned to their homes in Bertie County on Monday, to the regret of their many friends. The merchant who' sends out of his county for his job printing not only sends his money where he know it will not work back to him, but encourages his county peper to work for out-of-county advertising and his neighbor to send out of the county for such goods as could be bought at home. A New Enterprise for Ply mouth . A new enterprise, and one which has long been needed here is a machine shop, and one is to be at once erected. The promo ter of this new venture is Mr. Chas. Wilson, and the building is tp be located on the water part of the lot owned by the Plymouth Light and Ice Co., to be in the rear of the present power house and to face on Monroe street. The tools and machinery has al ready been ordered. The shops will be under the management of Mr, R. W. Stubbs, who '"s a first-class machinists, and well known to oup-people. Change in Time for Ilckl-ing- Court, For the benefit of those who seem to be confused as to the date of holding our Fall Term of Superior Court, and for general information, I publish below the dates of holding our Courts, as arranged by the last General As sembly, and as will be seen, this places pur Fall Term two weeks later than heretofore. Our courts are now held : Third Monday before the First Monday in March, for one week, for the trial of civil causes only ; Sixth Monday after the First Monday in March -for one week, and Eighth Monday after the First Monday in September for one week, the last two tcims for trial of crimiaal and civil causes.
