Harney spent the Xmas holidays at home with his family. Miss Laura Norman of Greens boro, spent Xmas with Miss Alice Phelps. Mrs. Nan Scarborough spent the latter part of last week in Edenton. Misses Laura and Carrie Smith were here with their parents Christmas. . Mr. E. D. Chesson of Roper, made us a pleasant call while in town Tuesday, Miss Annie Mae Wolfe is visit ing friends and relatives in E. City this week. Mr. Thornton Norman of Nor folk was in our city the latter part of last week. Glad to see our old friend, Mr. Arthur Chesson, of St Louis, in our City this week. Married. fit: A most b,eautiful wedding was solemnized at lolly Springs near Williamston, Dec. 28, at 12:30 O'clock, when Mr. Stewart J. Tetterton of Plymouth, led to the Altar, Misslenwood Smith wick of Williamston. Rev. Bradley, in his quiet and impressive way, pronounced the solemn words that made Miss Smith wick Mrs. Tetterton. The church was beautifully decorated with Evergreens, etc The bride was beautifully attir ed in a gown of gray cloth with shoes and gloves to match. The Beacon wishes for this happy young couple, a happy and prosperous voyage o'er the rough and uncertain years of life. Recorder's Court. C, entertained Friday even ing, Dec. 29th, from eight to eleven P. M. A guessing contest was the en tertainment feature. Answers were given in the names of the Counties of the State. The first prize was won by Miss Ida Thompson and the booby by Mr. Raymond Holmes cf Hert ford, N. C. The color tcheme of the decora tions was pink. After the con test, the guests were ushered in to the dining room, where a two course delightful lunch was serv ed.
