WEDDING ANNIVERSARY, I9B--I9I4. w M r. and Mrs, I!. A. Litchfield, j Jr.. very delightfully entertained Jon Wednesday at the home1 of Mrs. Litchfield's mother, Mrs. Ida Swain, at Creswell, in cele bration of their first . wedding: anniversary. The house was a dorned with a pretty color echeme of pink and white, which was carried out in the shading of the lights and other very "inter esting features. $i$s Carrie May Holmes re cured at the door. W iss Carolin a showed the guests up -stairs where they were received by lit tle Misses Louise Phelps and Mary Woodier. Mrs. A. L. Hol mes, Mrs. D. E- Woodley and Mrs. H- H. Phelps invited the guests into the dining-rootp, where Mrs. Ida Swain, Mrs. T. Holmes and Mrs. J. W. Starr served a dainty salad course. . jThe table decoration were in keeping with the rest of' the -house, the centre piece being a basket of white and pink carna tions. Attractive favors were given to the guests; pink carna tions to the girls, and white ones to the boys. The main feature of evening was Progressive Rook, being played at seven tables. The lrize, which was won by W. T. Alexander, was presented by Miss Elizabeth Phelps. Miss Sammie Harrison received the consolation prize. Following the game fruit punch was served in the library by Miss Elsie Swain. Among those pressnt were: : Mr. and Mrs. H. H. help3, Mr. Mr. and Mrs. T. C. Holmes, Mr. and Mrs. D. E.
