ROPER NEWS, Miss Thelma Peacock of E. City is visiting relatives here, Miss Myrtle Swain of Mackeys is the guest of Miss Irtra Knowles R. D. Harrison made a busi ness trip to Belhaven last week. Misses Lula and Annie Cahoon returned from Baltimore Tues day afternoon. Chas. R. Spruill of Washington spent several days here recently with relatives. J. E, helps and W. C. Miss Myrtle Pearce of Winton returned home Tuesday after a delightful visit to her aunt, Mrs. N. W. Spruiil, who returned with her for a short visit. i Rev. W. R. Haight of Belhaven is preaching a series of sermons in the Baptist Church this week which are a great treat for all those who attend. Mr. Faightis universally liked by all who know him, being a preacher of power coupled with ah attractive per sonality and it is a matter of gen uine regret that he leaves soon for Windsor, his new field of la bor. The patrons and friends of the school are requested to attend the opening evercises Monday morning. Rev. G. W. Holme?, President of the N. C. Conferenoe of the M. P. Church, will visit Creswell Circuit officirlly next week and preach at Rehobeth Monday night Sept. 4th, at Woodley's Chapel Tuesday at eleven o'clock in Creswell Tuesday night, at Mt.
