Q.t spent a short furlough at Jfiome with his parents the past week. We deeply sympathize with Mr. and Mrs. W. H. ( The Peoples' Drug Store, a newly incorporated enterprise for Plymouth, is busy painting and fitting up the store in the RrinkUv Block between Abe f lAdler and Washington County fr-feank preparing to begin busi- vi:-.vfoess-abottt.APTii ibitu . ' ' Church. - ' Easter services will be obser ved at the "Methodist Church in IPlymouth Sunday at both the 4morning and evening hours ; in the morning the children par ticipating, and in the evening : . the adults. Appropriate ypro- graria.have. been - arranged for ;flath services' and they promise to be even more interesting than ever s oef ore. ' Mrs. G. W. Harpey, who has more than a state-wide reputa tion as a choir' leader, will be musical director at both of. these services, arid- a musical treat of exceptional entertainment and i merit is 'in store for all wjio at. '" tend. ' The public will be cordially welcomed. v. . . The New Time. At 2:00 o'clock Sunday morn ing all clocks are to be moved up one hour. To avoid any confusion set your clock up when goii g to bed Saturday night and then forget that it is not running on solar time, and be goerned by it just as though it had not been changed Don't lose sight of the fact Sunday morning that if you in tend leaving on a certain train, attending Sunday school or church, and have not properly At- vnur crock, you will arrive r ' just one hour too late. All mills, stores, theatres, tc., are expec ted to observe this new time, the on rnf AS railroads and all other Federal industries. At first this arrangement may cause some little inconvenience in the morning, but when we consider the great advantage the extra hour given us in the even imr. so that we may spend it with our families, working our eardens, or in other recreations, we will soon properly appreciate it. Ice Cream Supper at Swain's. There will be an ice cream sup per at Swain's School House on Friday evening, the 29th, for the benefit of the Red Crbrs Everybody cordially invited Nitrate of Soda Distributor. Mr. J. A. Chesson, R. D., 2, Plymouth, N- C, has been ap pointed by the division of mar kets as nitrate of soda distribu tor for Washington County. According to the present Dlans Mr Chesson will have the nitrate supplies allotted to the farmers of this county shipped direct to him, and he and his agents will distribute it to the farmers. Mr, Chesson has the data regarding the allotments requested by the farmers, and he will distribute it accordingly The first shipment of nitrate will arrive in a short while, and this shipment will be for the far w own . I u8 Hiw are .planting gram crops 1 he nitrate for the other crops will arrive in due time Who's to Blame? is almost universally de plored that so few men attend church services. Th many remedies for this, and one we believe is publicity of these services. All men today are in veterate newspaper readers, and are more or less, unconsciously, perhaps, influenced by what they read in them, ; :'u i f. our , tors would give notice of sermon sub jects, etc., in advance and nnr Sunday School Superintendents would publish from time to time notes of interest about their schools, we believe it would cre ate more, interest. There is, not a church in this county that is not within easv reach of this paper, either by .telephone or mail, and not one around which the paper dees not thickly circulate. Suppose you use a little effort on your part, and give it a trial ? As we have repeatedly offered before, it will cost ou nothing but the effort on your , part ; we will do the rest. We only request that you send the matter in early in the week, and do not make any one article too 1 hy. EASTER ATZICN'S CHAP- Tnere will be an Easter ext r else presented bunday night.
