ISSUANCE OF $20,000 ELECTRIC
LIGHT AND POWER SYSTEMS
BONDS OF THE TOWN OF PLY
MOUTH, NORTH CAROLINA.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF
THE TOWN OF PLYMOUTH:
Sec. 1. That in pursuance of the
provisions of the Municipal Finance
Act (Sections 2918 to 2901, Consoli
dated Statutes of North Carolina, as
amended and re-enacted, Extra Ses
sion 1921), negotiable bonds of the
Town of Plymouth, to be known as
“Electric Light and Power Systems
Bonds”, are hereby authorized to be
issued in an aggregrate principal
amount not exceeding TWENTY
THOUSAND DOLLARS, for the nec
essary expenses of said Town, to-wit:
for the purpose of payinig for the
construction of electric light and pow
er systems for the Town of Plymouth
and its citizens.
Sec. 2. A tax sufficient to pay the
principal and interest of the bonds
hereby authorized shall be annually
levied and collected.
Sec. 3 The followinig matters are
hereby determined and declared pur
suant to the requirements of Section
2938 of the Municipal Finance Act:
(a) A statement of the debt of the
Town of Plymouth has been made and
filed with the Town Clerk pursuant
to the Municipal Finance Act, and is
open to public inspection.
(b) The assessed valuation of pro
perty subject to taxation by the Town
of Plymouth for 1923, as shown by
said statement, is $1,095,786.
(c) The amount of the net debt |
of the Town of Plymouth outstanding, j
authorized, or to ibe authorized, as
shown by said statement, is nothing.
Sec. 4. This ordinance shall be
published once in each of two suc
cessive weeks after its final passage,
as required by Section 2944 of the
Municipal Finance Act.
Sec. 5. This ordinance shall take
effect thirty days after Its first publi
cation unless in the meantime a peti
tion for its submission to the voters
is filed under the Municipal Finance
Act, and in such event it shall take
effect when approved by the voters of
the Town of Plymouth at an election
as provided in said act.

ed on the 14th day of April, 1924.

Any action or proceeding question
ing the validity of said ordinance must
be commenced within thirty days after
its first publication^

of sale contained in a certain deed of
trust dated the 27th day of May, 1921
and executed by C. E. Swain, J. L.
Swain and Rufus Swain, the under
signed, as Administrator of John W.
Hinsdale, Trustee, will, upon the 9th
day of June, 1924, expose the follow
ing lands for sale at public auction
to the highest bidder for cash at the
Court House door in Plymouth, North
Carolina, to wit:
Being, in Lee’s Mill township, state
of North Carolina adjoining the lands
of Edward Swain, M. Luther Swain
and Swan Bay pocosin and others
bounded as follows: viz: On the east
by the land of M. Luther Swain, on
the South by the land of Edward
Swain, on the West by the land of
J. M. Reid, (formerly), and on the
North by the Swan Bay pocosin, con
taining 44 acres more or less, said
land being western portion of that
land conveyed by J. M. Reid and wife
to George ,W. Ayers and Rufus Swain
the 28th diay of December, 1887; this
being the same land as was conveyed
by the deed of George W. Ayers and
wife, Josephine Ayers to C. Edgar
Swain by deed dated July 19, 1917,
of record in the office of the Register
