ANL THE WASHINGTON COUNTY NEWS Published Every Friday in Plymouth, North Carolina I.H ROY HARRIS,.Rithiisher urul Ju/itor $1.50 A YEAR "e SIX MONTHS Address all communications to the Roanoke Beacon, Plymouth, N. C. Entered as second-class mail matter at the Postofficc, Plymouth, North 1 Carolina, under the act of March 3rd, 1887. FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 15, 1929 News Will Be Printed! For some reason unknown to us, people often come in the office of the Beacon and News and ask that some certain news material be withheld or that we act as their agent to get even with someone for them who they might have something against. Ft is not the purpose of the management of the Beacon and News to act as scandal monger nor is it the policy of this paper to keep some persons meanness hid. We want to give facts and in that way get public opinion so posioned against crime that everyone will hate crime. One of the best ways to eliminate crime is through education, in fact, our great educators tell us that it is the only way. The press, and especially the small weekly, is one of the best mediums through which tc conduct this campaign of education. Although it is the de sire of the Beacon and News to make Washington county one of the best counties in North Carolina, we know that we can't do it alone but we can tell the people what is going on and in that manner pre judice the masses against the bad things in life. Every reader has the privilege of, at anytime, writing articles for the paper just so long as they sign their name, but to come in and ask that some certain thing be kept out of the paper is absurd and useless.
