hold its regular meeting Friday
afternoon at 3:30 o'clock, it was
announced this week. The meet
ing was originally scheduled for
last Friday, but was postponed
on account of the district meet
ing in Colerain. A full attend
ance of the membership is urged.
Attend Football Game
Mr. and Mrs. O. H. Cox and daugh
ter, Marjorie, and Charles Cohoon, of
Columbia, attended the football game
in Chapel Hill Saturday. Jean Cox,
of Salem College, Winston-Salem,
joined them there. After the game
all of them accompanied Miss Cox
to Winston-Salem, where they spent
the week-end.

Monday Evening
The Junior Woman's Club held the
second meeting of the year on Mon
day evening in the community build
ing.
Preceding the business session a
dinner was served by the following
hostesses: Mrs. Leroy Bateman, Mrs.
Herman Bowen. Miss Selma Braxton
and Miss Emma Coley.
Miss Charlotte McNair presided
over the meeting and recognized the
following new members: Misses Ruth
Kiker, Elizabeth Campbell. Molly Ed
gerton, Emma Coley. Naomi Weede.

kin Ambrose.
Delegates to the district meeting
made reports. It was announced the
club would entertain the Williamston
Junior Woman's Club next Tuesday
evening. October 18.
The topic for study was “Art.”
Mrs. Wenona White, program chair
man. introduced Mrs. W. M. Darden
and Mrs. Fred Innis, who made talks
about famous pictures.

ed two recent brides, Mrs. C. O. Arm
strong and Mrs. Leroy Bateman, with

Mrs. M. J. Polk entertained at a
luncheon bridge at her home on Tues
day honoring Mrs. Greenleaf and
Miss Margaret Greenleaf. guests of
Mrs. T. W. Earle.
Bridge was played at three tables.
At the conclusion of the progressions
Mrs. S. M. Rasmuson was awarded
a pickle dish as high score prize. Mrs.
T. W. Earle retained the traveling
prize, perfume.
Guests included Mrs. Greenleaf,
Miss Greenleaf, Mesdames Rasmuson,
Bowers, Watson, Walter Clark, Cary,
Curry, Ferree, Earle, Harper, Cox, S.

bridge club Thursday evening at a
course dinner. Mrs. W H. Johnson,

Mrs. R. W. Johnston was high scor
er for the evening and was presented
a pair of chiffon hose. A box of candy
went to Mrs. E. L. Owens as low
award. Mrs. Lloyd Owens was pre
sented a bottle of perfume.
Refreshments consisted of fruit
cocktail, chicken salad on lettuce, as
paragus, glazed apples, deviled eggs,
potato chips, olives, pickles, hot rolls
and coffee.

third anniversary and the Hopkins’

A delicious lunch was served picnic
