POLK IS HOSTESS TUESDAY Mrs. M. J. Polk charmingly enter tained at a dessert bridge at her home in the village Tuesday after noon at 1:30. honoring her sister, Mrs. J. S. Stanley, of Charlotte. The Polk home was artistically dec orated with mixed flower arrange ments. On each table there were miniature vases containing candy; mints in little umbrellas were used as favors. Spruill Tuesday afternoon with 15 members present. Two new members, Mrs. Edison Watson and Miss Lyndell Lewis, were enrolled. Mrs. D. R. Chesson opened the pro gram. which was participated in by Mrs. Irving Watson. Mrs. P. C. Tar kington. Mrs. K. J. Chesson. Mrs. C. J. Davidson, and Mrs. A. L. Watson. Miss Jennie Brinkley assisted the hostess in serving delicious ice cream and cake. The next meeting will be held with Mrs. P. C. Tarkington.
