Plymouth Steam Laundry To Open Monday Modern Equipment Affords Customeis Best of Set vice Efficient Raleigh Man lo Manage Local Enterprise J. B. Willoughby, Local Man, Is Owner; Local People to do Work Another step in the forward march of Plymouth will take place Monday, when the Plymouth Steam Laundry, owned by J. B, Willoughby, will be opened in the rear of the municipal building on Water street with about 20 persons scheduled to be employed in the town's newest enterprise. This plant is modern and up-to date in every particular, with the lat est and newest equipment made by the American Laundry Machinery Company installed to afford the new enterprise an opportunity to provide the finest laundry work possible, comparing very favorably with the laundries in the large cities. Mr. Willoughby* has made a very heavy investment in his new plant and every one is invited to visit the new enterprise and see for themsel ves that no expense has been spared in equipping the place to turn out the best work of any laundry in this sec tion. to do it promptly and at prices that aie no higher than people are now paying. It was pointed out by Mr. Willough by that this is a new undertaking for Plymouth and Washington County, and that the firm will appeal to the customers in this area on the basis of better service at reasonable prices; that the laundry will employ about 20 local persons: that the organization will pay their share of town and county taxes; improve the trade here by employing more persons and con tribute in general toward making Ply mouth a better place in which to live. upon its opening, tne laundry win inaugurate a delivery service through out the county, covering every town and all the highways. It was said that no extra charge will be made for calling for and delivering laundry, but that a special discount for cash and carry service would be available to th customers who would cooper ate in helping the laundry save tires and gasoline by bringing and carry ing their laundry. The personnel of the laundry will include J. B. Willoughby, the own er; and C. J. Jordon of Raleigh, who has had 15 years experience in the laundry business, who will have gen eral supervision of the plant, which gives to the public the assurance that they will get the best type of service available to any one in this section. John Brown, a local young man, will drive the truck and solicit for busi ness. There will be many other per sons employed for operating the washers, dryers, pressers and other equipment in the plant. Pour classes of laundry service will be featured including family finish, thrift-T, damp wash and bachelor bundles. Last Week's Winners in Women’s Golf Tourney Mrs. Bert Williams, of Williamston, | was winner of two wrar stamps last week in the blind bogey tournament staged by the women's golf division of the Country Club of Plymouth. Mrs. Nancy Piephoff and Mrs. Eloise Owens tied for second place, prize for which was 1 war stamp, and it is not known how the prize will be divided. The business ability and integrity of Mr. Willoughby is well known here where he has resided for many years and where he has worked in a num ber of places of business, and the pub lic is expected to turn their business to him where they will get first class service and satisfaction with every laundry job that they give him.
