FREEDOM mm or Yes, let Freedom ring. Echoing and re-echoing through all the turmoil of today, the clear, loud ringing of our Liberty Bell is a symbol of all that we Americans have to live for! Staunch sturdy from the beam from which it is suspended, to the gong that strikes out its message, our Liberty Bell signals to a waiting world of oppressed peoples that though the struggles be long and hard, the call of Liberty will again ring out around the world .... as it still rings out for every American. So Uncle Sam invites every lover of the Liberty Beil to do a constructive job in the pres ent emergency. Whether you’re a housewife budgeting a payroll, a war worker or big business leader, all are urged to join in the call “Let’s Go America.” Every one must do their part that Independence Day may never lose its significance. .... And the spirit of 1776 and 1942 marches on. There was a great need for unity in the hard fought years of 1776 to 1789. There is a need for unity now. Just as then, every American is in service to his country; the man who serves on land or sea, in uniform; the man who keeps faith in business, the worker who produces the goods so vital to the successful fulfillment of the preent task. ... So the American spirit continues to abound. This same challenge has been flung into the face of those who would wrest freedom from a united people, and this American spirit is just as live and vital today as it was in 1776, when the first Independence Day was observ ed. On this important date the American people should pledge themselves anew to the de fense of the American spirit.
