Y. Floyd, state AAA executive assistant, of N. C. State College. The insurance guarantee 75 per cent of the normal yield set up for each wheat farm against loss due to causes beyond control of the grower, such as fire, floods, windstorm, hail and drouth. Premium rates vary from four-tenths to six-tenths of a bushel per acre, which at present prices is an average of about 60 cents per acre. The insurance, however, may be obtained without an outlay of cash, premiums being deducted from any indemnity due the farmer, or any payment due him under the AAA farm program. Closing date for making applications is September 15, and none will be accept ed after that date. Applications may be made at any county AAA of fice. Friday night. Rev. O. C. Wood presid ed. First sale held on August 29th brought $4611.98 for 76 cattle. This i group was composed of heifers, feed I er calves and feeder steers. Gwyn said the September 12th sale would be the second in a series of 12 sales to be held under the Re volving Fund operating jointly by the State Highway Commission and the State Department of Agriculture. The sales are conducted by Gwyn, who pools his talents between the State Highway Commission and the Department of Agriculture, and Paul Fletcher of the Markets Division. All cattle are purchased in western North Carolina and resold at Cale donia at the same price plus ship ping and handling expense, which still gives the eastern North Caro linians a chance to buy cattle cheap er than they would normally if they had to pay for smaller individual shipments. Then too, the eastern state cattle raisers are given the ad vantage of having trained experts se lect the cattle for them. -® Nazis can buy only bread that is four days old—because the harvest is uncertain.
