Roper Seniors Plan School Newspaper Roper.—Seniors in the Journalism class at Roper High School made plans to raise funds to purchase a mimeographing machine, selected a name. The Limelight,'' for the high school newspaper and chose the st iff for the school year at the regular class period Monday. It is planned by the class to pub lish seven issues and all patrons of the school are being urged to sub scribe to The Limelight for up-to the-minute Roper High School news. -$ Realistic Western Film On Saturday For a western picture that has about everything the average action fan could desire. "Code of the Out law,” to be seen at Plymouth Theatre next Saturday for a day run is right on top. It is regarded as a most en joyable film. Tom Tyler. Bob Steele and Rufe1 Davis are Mesquiteers, so called, en listed by a mining town's authorities to uncover a sum of money stolen from a prominent citizen. Tire ban did chieftain has been killed and the only key to the mystery of where the money has been hidden is his young son. a vicious, hot-tempered little outlaw. The Mesquiteers have the boy in their custody and begin thaw ing him out by good treatment. He is kidnapped by a member of the bandit gang, rescued by the Mes quiteers in furiously paved action and both the boy and money are sav ed. The three Mesquiteers are well supported by Melinda Leighton, lead ing lady, and by little Bennie Bart lett's well handled characterization of the bandit's son. Club Women In Scrap Campaign A special effort is being made by each club member to collect any scrap that is in their community. Not only are they' cleaning up around their own homes, but urging others to do the same. Save Old Grease The Creswell Club women are among the first to report old grease being saved for the fat salvage cam paign. In case you do not know what to do with any that you have saved, get in touch with the Home Agent. Mrs. H. W. Norman will take care of that saved in Creswell. Swain Report 550 quarts canned, eggs sold $168, chickens $25, dairy products $7, 25 garments made, number pieces fur niture painted, 2 rooms painted, new frigidaire. one window, bed room suite, heater and new model. Creswell Report 855 quarts canned. 40 garments made, bought electric roaster, new table, mattress, three bed spreads, and 2 pairs curtains. The Bible study, "The Covenant of Sinai." was presented by the Rev. S. B. Wil son. Mrs. A. C. Harris, president, con ducted the business session. The so ciety voted to have its state mission program at the church Monday night after the third Sunday in October, with Mrs. Clyde Smithson and Mrs. C. L. Hopkins in charge of the pro gram. It is a screen adaptation of Eric Knight’s best selling novel, a compelling love story of two people caught in the mael the truly great motion pictures to strom of a war which has brought them together in spite of conflicting backgrounds and beliefs and yet re mains a barrier to their happiness. After the business session, a social hour was enjoyed. heights once again in a splendid por trayal of a girl born to the aristo cracy. who enlists in a woman's mi litary organization. While the set ting is England, after Dunkerque and the social philosophy peculiarly Brit ish. it is a story for Americans, too.
