Clark entertained the Thursday Afternoon Literary Club on the afternoon of April 27. in the Community building. Lovely arrangements of roses, iris, pansies and lilies of the valley were used for decorations. Mrs. C. J. Norman led the devo tional which was followed by an interesting review of Bound for Glory," by Woody Guthrie, given by Mrs. J. F. Keyes. A donation was made by the club to the Cancer Control Fund. Mrs. C. E. Ayers reviewed the pub lic library's prograss during the past year. At the conclusion of the meeting a two-course supper was served. Mrs. Rasser Edwards Entertains Club Mrs. Rasser Edwards entertained the Ace of Clubs Bridge Club Thurs day evening with Mrs. Luther Nobles winning the high score prize. Mrs. Lester Crofton and Mrs. A. J. Riddle were visitors. The bingo prize was won by Mrs. Riddle and Mrs. Crofton received the visitors high score prize. A frozen salad course with coffee was served. Mrs. W. B. Chesson spent Monday in Plymouth. Miss Nellie Tarkenton returned from Elizabeth City Monday, and reports that her brother, Benton Tarkenton's condition was not so well at this time. Mrs. J. C. Tarkenton and Mrs. W. B. Chesson attended the quarterly meeting in Jamesville Sunday night. Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Chesson and children went to Columbia Sunday to visit Mrs. Henry Davenport in the Columbia hospital.
