just as human beings do—but the

Dr. William Moore, head of the N. C.
Department of Agriculture Veterinary
division.
In order to help out any horses
bothered with toothaches as the win
ter comes on. Dr. Moore attempted to
list some symptoms: The horse may
object more than usual to bridling,

NOTE: I his political advertisement is sponsored and paid for by 20 Washington
County Business Men, Working Men and Farmers who have voted for Franklin D.
Roosevelt three times, and most of whom plan to vote the straight county, state and
national Democratic tickets on November 7th, with the exception of the office of Rep
resentative, In this respect, we are taking the advice of President Roosevelt, con
tained in his acceptance speech, following the Chicago Convention, to vote for the best
man, regardless of party affiliation.

J. Roy Manning
FOR WASHINGTON COUNTY
Representative
To The 1945 General Assembly oi Norlh Carolina
We urge Washington County Democrats and Republicans alike to
vote for Roy Manning for the following reasons:
He is the best-qualified candidate for the office on either ticket by
reason of his wide experience as a successful farmer and business man.
In the past, he has always given freely of his time and means to
every sort of movement and organization that had for its purpose the
upbuilding and betterment of conditions in the county.
He can be counted upon to devote every minute of his time during the
1943 session of the legislature to the interests of Washington County and
its people, without regard to partisan politics.
His opponent is NOT the choice of a majority, or even of any large
group of county Democratic voters. The Democratic nomination went
to a man who received only 337 votes out of the 926 cast for the office in
the May primary. At best, he represents the choice of only 337 out of
approximately 2,500 registered Democrats in Washington County.
At This Time, We Ask You To Consider First the Welfare of Washing
ton County—and We Believe You Will Agree With Us That—
ROY MANNING IS THE MAN
REGARDLESS OF PARTY!
