In making the colorful and thrill ing story of America's greatest legen dary hero, the studio accepted Buffalo Bill on his own terms, and in those spots where his own terms are a bit confusing, it simply took the most dramatic. Among the various inconsistencies! in the Buffalo Bill legend, is for ex ample. the manner in which he met ! his wife, portrayed in the picture by Maureen O Hara. The late Mrs. Cody wrote that she was simply introduced to her hus : band-to-be by her second cousin. The first was that Cody had saved her from the unworthy at tentions of a man in Washington. D. C. Buffalo Bill's highly publicized duel with Yellow Hand 'played by An j thony Quinn', has been described , variously by numerous witnesses. ! Some have said Buffalo Bill shot Yel low Hand from a distance and then scalped him. One man who was there claimed the scout didn't kill Yellow Hand at all—that someone else did. In the picture. Buffalo Bill will destroy Yellow Hand with a knife in hand-to-hand combat, just as he. himself, described it. "The truth is.” says William A. Universal's widely heralded all-star film which comes Monday and Tuesday to the screen of the Plymouth Theatre, is something more than a pictorial pa rade of some two score of Hollywood's greatest personalities, although it is all of that. Such names as George Raft, Vera Zorina. Orson Wells, Marlene Diet rich, Jeanette MacDonald, Dinah Shore. W. C. Fields, Sophie Tucker. Donald O'Connor, the Andrews Sis ters. Charles Butterworth, Maria Montez and Susanna Foster in the same cast attest to that. "Follow the Boys." for its selieer en tertainment content, is as good a piece as Hollywood has turned out in this war. But additionally notable is the wisdom of Producer Charles K Feldman in providing a human story as well, about, which to w'eave the his tory of the show world, from the de mise of vaudeville to the present day. Romance Further strengthening the fabric of the entertainment-laden film is an appealing romantic theme, in volving George Raft and lovely Vera Zorina, who are co-starred.
