SOCIETY THEY TELL US Mr. and Mrs. B. J. Holleman spent Thursday in Raleigh. They were accompanied by J. C. Thump son. Mr. and Mrs. W. II. Bodenhamer, H. L. Cowell. Tom Shugart, Walt. Sabiston, Jr., Gene Koonce and Harvey Boney attended the South ern Conference basketball games in Raleigh last week. Miss Hathaway Price. Mrs Jane Lewis and Mrs. Sylvester Day spent Thursday and Friday in Raleigh. Rev. VV. S. O'Byrne. who was confined at Midway Park last week, was able to be out Sunday. Miss Frances Fountain of Fayel teville and Miss Bessie Marshbu; n of Wilmington spent the week end with Mrs. Fountain's mother. Mrs. Annie Fountain, near Richlands. Misses Dorothy and Vivian Bryan of Raleigh spent the week end with their mother. Mrs. Sudie Bryan, near Richlands. R. R. Fountain of High Point visited his mother. Mrs. Nick Fountain, week end before last. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Henderson of Newport News. Va. spent the week end in Jacksonville. Steve Stefanau, .Jr. spent the week end here with his par"nts. He is a student at Edward's Mili tary Academy. Deane Taylor spent the work end in Goldsboro and brought home Mrs. Taylor who had been visiting her daughter. Mrs. A T. Griffin. Jr.. and family. PROMOTED 0Yera L. Powell of Richlands. who is now stationed at the Naval Air Technical Training Center, Memphis. Tennessee, has been promoted to the rate of SK3c.
