' FRIDAY. JUNE 20, 19IS THE BREVARD NEWS, BREVARD, N. C TBE PRAYER CORNER The Holy Spirit f God is present in human life. Ev- «y holy impulse, every noble desire, every yearning aspiration, is the ex pression of God in human life. God expresses Himself in grass, and leaf, and flower; in river, and lake, and mountain. He is the life in them all. But in humanity, God expresses Himself in love, and duty, and nobility. As the life in the tree lifts tons and tons of sap against the downward fall of gravity, so the life of the Spirit in the soul of man lifs that soul against the awful drag of selfishness and sin, and holds it true in all the terrible drifts of social and business forces around it. The truth of the eternal Spirit’s presence is that we can count on God. He is here now with us and in us. Breath of your breath, and life of your life. In Him we live, and move, and have our being. He is the great Companion. We may walk with Him, and talk with Him every day. He bas not loft us orphans. We are in | God's living world, an 1 that God is ; not afar off, but here to help us. j Thanks be to God, for His unspeak- able gift. A Prayer; O Thou Divine Spirit, let me find my strength in Thee. I need Thee that I may be strong everywhere. I long to be independent of all circum stances, alike of the cloud, and of the sunshine. I want a power to keep me from being depressed in the vale, and to prevent me from being giddy on the heights; to save me from sinking in despondency, and to rescue me from soaring in pride. I want, both a pillar of fire and a pillar of clouds, a refuge from the night of adversity and a shield from the day of prosperity, I can find them in Thee. Come into my heart, and Thy power shall be my power, I shall be victor ious over all circumstances, at home in all scenes, restful in all fortunes. Amen. C. D. C.
