SUFFERED BROKEN ^G~
POEM BY MRS. MARY MILLS
Vim
NOTICE!
I have bought an extra large fine,
Kentucky Jack for the benefit of myself
and the other mule raisers of the county.
On account of severe sickness and scarcity
of help’ I have been unable to get a man to
handle him this season.
If I don’t secure a man to handle him
in a few days, I will offer him for sale—
cash or on time at a very reasonable price.
He is very gentle and easy to handle and is
all right in every particular.
Come and see him and his record.
I also have two pair of mules for sale,
one large pair and one unbroke pair three
years old; and several milk cows—also
two houses and three lots.
Terms: one-half cash, remainder like
paying rent. Get particulars from
J. M. THRASH.

The following items, whoch will be
of interest to many Brevard friends,
were clipped from the People’s Ad
vocate and Press, Newbloomfield, Pa.
“Charles Mills, who, for some time
has been walking on four legs, on
account of having broken one, is ac
tually walking on two “as he used to
do.’ ”
“Mrs. Mary Hampton Mills, our
house-mother, honors to-day our col
umn with the following original
poem:
SMILE
By M. H. M.
If you want the world to love you,
Just smile the whole day long;
Make folks think you’re always hap-
py,
Your life one long sweet song,
Never let them see the sadness,
That steals over now and then.
If tears link behind the laughter.
Choke them back and smile again.
For the world holds too much sadness
Each life knows so much of pain,
But in each must come some glad
ness,

she continued, “and no one knows
the pain and torture I have suffered
since. My hands swelled until I
could hardly work my fingers and I
haven’t been able to put on a pair of

I got so dizzy everything seemed to
