They also wish to thank Ifiss Nettie Wise and Mrs. H. M. Norwood for thread and other little thingrs given 'them for the sewing lessons. This club is indebted to the Arch- <deac«n Griffith, of Asheville, for a Ij^ndid sewing ipachine that he re cently gave them. These things, with others which are not mentioned here, were given voluntarily with on^y the knowledge that they were needed. We hope some good friend or friends will help us get an oil stove, a few cooking utensils, and necessary culinary equipment for a kitchen, in which the girls can have cooking lessons as well as sewing and get an object lesson in'caring for the important part of the nome —*aie idtchen. It is my pleasure to state that we *were able to have the Home Demon stration Department represented in the parade on armistice day. Through the efforts of Miss Julia Deaver and others of Davidson iRiver, with some of the Davidson River girls having completed their club uniforms rep resented the tliirteen Home Demon stration Clubs of the county and some of the work being done in these clubs. However, without the help of Mr. S. H. Siniard who gave us the use of his truck and drove for us and the assistance of others in the preparat ions we could not have entered the parade at all. The following is a report as given to the Board of County Commission ers on the first Monday in November. This is late coming out as I did not have time to prepare it for publica tion with my regular schedule of clubs and extra work of armistice day. In some places it is necessary to divide the club in two sections there being too many to give instructio'-is effectively in one group. Rosman girls club is the largest club at present, Quebec is running them a clos«i second while Littler.’ver is the largest woman’s club. Ir all of these clubs I have full attendance and some clubs smaller in nui»‘-bp.r are doing good work. During the past month I hf>ve had a total of twenty five Aiee-ings and d*;monstrations with a total attend ance of four hundred ninety six. I have traveled four hundred and se venty seven miles beside milage to Marshall where I judged the Madison County Fair -on OctoKor the 8th with the strong support and splendid Blan tyre^nd Litt'e River had unusually . good iairs from f» standpoint of at tendance, exhibits and general in terests. Desp’te the shortage of fruits and vegetables this year we are told by those who attended form er fairs in these latter two commun ities that they were the best that bad been held. The domestic science and dorriestic art deserve special men tion in the women’s departments. At Little River we had splendid educational exhibits from the school The boys also gave good demonstra tions of their atheletic training. Besides these fairs I have organi zed a nuxhber of clubs and resumed work with the old clubs in the county making me a total of nine girls and four women’s clubs’ co-operation given the work in Transylvania county we expect to see great results. LUCILE CLARKE, Home Demon stration Agent with Hawkins’ line to a stake on top of a ridge to Thomas Galloway’s line; then with Galloway’s line to a stake in M. J. Some of them come true and some of them remain dreams. But of all the dreams we dream, there is one that stands out above the rest, one that glows a little warmer and that brings greater Joy when it does come true. That dream we cherish above all others because we find in it our ^‘HOME OF DREAMS^^ And each of us has his own ^^dream home.'^ One into which has been built all that expresses and satisfies our individual tastes and require ments. One that embodies all our own ideas of what a real home should be. And that home is a Better Home, built of Better Mater ials, built to be lived ia and enjoyed for many years to come. You have a dream of a home. Will you make it come true or will you buy somebody's cast-off? Or, if you build, will you be satisfied with just an ordinary house erected out of ordinary materials? We can make yoifr HOME OF DREAMS COME TRUE! We cater especially to home builders and are advocaters of better homes. With our help you can build your '"Dream Home'' for the same money that you would have put into an ordinary house. Among our plans you will find Your Home or one which, with a few changes, is just what you have in mind. We want you and the wife to come around and tell us about the home you want to build—it won't obligate you at all and we promise that you'll learn something. We believe in Better Materials for Better Buildinsrs and, in accord4nce with that belief, we handle only lumber and other materials which have proven, through use, to be as s^ood as the best and better than the ordinary. You are welcome jto look over the entire stock of building materials at any time you wish. Gome in. MILLER SUPPLY GQMPANY Vi. f ’ “A-".- ■
