Mrs. Welch Galloway visited her mother, Mrs. E. P. Hawkins, of Hen- edrsonville last week end. George H. Valentine, prominent attorney of Hendersonville, wag town last Wednesday. m Mrs. Stephen Fontaine who was re cently operated on at Brevard Hospi tal, "has returned to her home much improved in health. Mr*. H. N. Carrier states that she has more applications for students for Rockbrook Camp than she can accomodate. The many friends of Dr. C. Professor McLeod is enlarging the lake at Illahee and when completed will have one of the finest swimming pools in the mountains. Will Sitton has rented the Tom Waters house on East Main Street and intends to move in the latter part -of the week, W. F. Decker of Pisgah Forest leaves in a short time for Sanfran- cisco,, wlicre he will attend the Shriner’s Convention. Miss Annie K. Marshall has return ed from an extended visit with her family of Asheville and is now a Ruest of the Appalachain Hotel. Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Summey have rented rooms from Mrs. Z. W. J. S. Bromfield and R. R. Fisher motored to Ashevlle on Thursday. Mr. and Mrs. John Glenn spent Monday in Asheville. Mrs. B. J. Sitton visited her mother in Hendersonville last Saturday. Duncan McDougal spent the week end with his family here. J. a Silversteen returned on Wed nesday from a trip to Washington and New York. Dr. T. J. Summey is the proud owner of a brand new “Dodge” run about. Miss Mildred Bryant was the guest of friends in Asheville during the week. Rev. C. C. J. C. SEAOLE HAS NICE TRIP. Rev. J. C. Seagle returned Friday from a week’s visit among relatives in Lincoln and Monroe Counties. While away he met Rev. Mr. Raper, former pastor of the Brevard Meth odist Church, w'ho was interested in all things pertaining to Brevard. Mr. Seagle reports that while there will be ample crops this year, everything is somewhat behind and the wheat is in bad condition on account of a dis ease called rust, in the section he visited.
