THE BR£VARD NEWS, BREVARD, NORTH CAROLINA ■ I ■' » ■■ FRIDAY, MAY 19th, 1»21. THE SUNDAY SCHOOL CONVEN- TIO HELD AT ENON CHURCH • 'The first annual session of the Sunday School Convention of the Transylvania Baptist Association was held with the Enon Baptist church on Thursday and Friday of last week. Although the attendance was smaller thaiA had. been hoped for, the inter est was all that any one could ask. From start to finish there was not a dull minute during the entire ses sion. No speaker was dull or long, and each one knew what he wanted to say, and when he said it, he quit. The music during the convention was unusually good and inspiring. A male fiuartette from the Sebren Music House of Asheville was present throughout the convention and ren dered a number of selections which greatly delighted all who heard them. Mr. Sebren also led the congregation in singing some of the old hymns and .songs. Pastor Ledford and the Enon com munity finely entertained the con vention, and all visitcfrs were delight ed with the treatment they received from the people of that splendid com munity. The president of the convention. Rev. J. E. Dupree, was unable to at tend on account of having been call ed to the bedside of his aged father who was very sick at his home in Wake county. In his absence, Rev. '•Chas. C. Smith was chosen to act as president for this convention. The next session of the conven tion will be held with the Brevard church on Thursday and Friday after the first Sunday in May, 1923. Miss Myrtle Garren and Mr. W. S. Price. Jr. On time and place: W. B. Henderson, G. W. Bishop and A. B. Jones. Rev. E. G. Ledford was chairman of the committee on nomi nations.
