High, up on a jutting crag ? far from the haunts of man ? the eaglet' rear their_^oung. ' a/,7 * . ' No protecting wails between the wabbly, teetering litle eaglets and the storms that rage. The lightning may flash, and thunders i roll, but each sikjcessive flash reveals them huddled together, their piercing lit- \ t)e eyes unblinking. By no mistake of ? judgement will they venture "too near the edge of their bleak and rug ged home. Their protection lies within them ? their fear of -the yawning abyss betfow. \ But the time comes when the parent ?birds know that the young eagles must use their wings. Calmly they push their young off the ledge ? and they must fly. In this manner they have^thein first opportunity to try their wings. As usual, there is a little lesson for us. It is so obvious that it is not neces sary to comment upon it. We offer the suggestion, however, that our Sav ings department; where interest L compounded each three months at four per cent, is a splendid place for the child to develop his habits of thrift. -Let him try his wings, as he grows up. Do not reserve for him the rude awakening which Awaits, the eagles. . , " ' " .
