Whitmire, last Sunday afternoon. Mrs. Joe Huchison is reported ill at her heme here. Mr. and MrB. John Clark and children spent last vrgek-end with Mrs. Clark's sister, Mrs. B. E. Smith of Cowarts. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Merrill, Mrs. Ul'-s Merrill and daughter, Geneva, and Miss Flora Merrill, all of Bre A. P .BELL, JR.. CELEBRATES HIS SIXTH BIRTHDAY On Tuesday afternoon of l??rt week A. P. Jr., the six year old son of Sir. and Mrs. A. P. Bell, gave a birthday party, celebrating the sixth anniversary of his life. Many of his little friends being invited, came and brought a handsome and ap propriate birthday shower of pres ents. After a delightful season of games and amusement, the gay party was served with refreshments by Mrs. Bell. Afterwards, all left for their homes, wishing A. P. many more happy occasions, and a long prosperous journey through lije. Those present were: Mrs. Craig Wh tmire, Mrs. R. C. Stewart and two daughters, Moriah and Mary, 1). H. Eldridge are spending some time w th relatives at Roan oke Rapids, Va. Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Galloway will leave here on Wednesday of this week for a two weeks' visit to rel atives in Pennsylvania. Sirs. Sarah Galloway has returned home after spending some time with her son, Dr. Frank Galloway, of Greenville, S. C. Mr .Hoke and Earl Muvphrec of Crow Creek, S. C., spent last week end with their aunt, Mrs. Lee R. Fisher of this city. Prof. W. R. Burnett is sporting a new Pontiac sport model roadster. Mr. Welch Galloway has resigned his position with the Gloucester Lumber company and accepted a po sition with his brother, J. C. Gallo way of Brevard. Sir. Houston IHshman of Lake Toxaway, has moved with his family to our prosperous city. . We welcome these good people. A large attend ance 's' urged at this service. ROSMAN SCHOOL NEWS tin last Friday afternoon the sixth grade enjoyed a picnic on the pas ture hill above the L. M. Glazener house. Also on the same afternoon 1 1. ?> faculty of the high school went on a picnic trip to Lake Toxaway. AH report a great time. On last Monday afternoon, Prof. E. D. Wilson went up on the school bus to the Gloucester section, spend ing the night at the home of Mr, Price, whose daughter is in the senior class at Rosman this year. One of the enjoyable features of Mr. Wilson's trip was a fox chase. The students of all grades are hard at work now, finishing thc'.r grades for this term. Creek, S. C., spent one night last week with his nephew, Mr. C. L. Moss. Mr. A. O. -Kitchen has returned to his position here as depot agent, after spending three weeks with his family at St. Petersburg, Fla. Mr. W. P. Hogsed is visiting friends here. Mr. Hogsed is a for mer Rosman citizen and greatly loved by the people of this city* Mrs. W. E. Hall, after spending some time with her daughter, Mrs. Hunter, of Greenville, S. C., has re turned to her home here. Mr- C. E. Leathers and family spent last week-end with relatives at Seneca. Mr. Willie Reid and family of Quebec, moved to our city on Mon day of this week. Mr. \V. B. and I.yle ]I?nilri>un visited Air. T. C. Henderson at San ford hospital, Sanford, Saturday.
