Sovereign Withrow was a farmer and merchant and was a great be liever in doing something for the coming generation as well as the present. He erected a school house at Hollis to educate the youth and also erected a monument to the mem ory of the soldiers who took part in the World War, from Rutherford and Cleveland county.
