Nathan Chap .;iun preached a wonderful sermon. A bountiful lunch was served during the noon recess. Again, after all appetites were sated, the convention was called together and heard an excellent sermon by Rev. Rolan Rob inson, of Tryon. Dr. and Mrs. Cureton and Mrs. f Has Cureton and daughter, of SALVATION ARMY CONCERT WAS ENJOYABLE AFFAIR On Tuesday evening, the Salvation Army put on a concert at Rosman High School auditorium, charging a small admission, from which a neat sum was realized. The program was given by four young men of Hendersonville, using three guitars and a uke. A varied program of classical and popular music was enjoyed by the large audi ence. MIDDLE FORK SUNDAY SCHOOL ORGANIZED WITH 100 MEMBERS A Sunday School has been organ ized at, Middle Fork, with about ons hundred pupils enrolled. Mr. D. Morgan is superintendent of the Sunday School, which is being held in a vacant house. ENJOYABLE PICNIC An en.ioycble picnic was held at Lake Toxaway Thursday evening, when a number of Rosman families joined together for the event. Those present for the occasion were: Mr. and Mrs. W. Lton Manley, Valdo Morgan, POPPY SALE WILL BE STAGED TODAY: A poppy sale will be conducted in Rosman today (Thursday) under' the auspices of the American Le gion, the proceeds of sale to be used for the patients at Oteen Hospital. This is the first sale of its kind to be held in Rosman, and it is expected that many poppies will be sold on this day. k LARGE CROWDS ATTEND SINGING CONVENTION The district singing convention met at Carr's Hili Baptist church Sunday afternoon, May 2G, with quite a large crowd present, and many complimentary remarks beinir luard in regard to the conducting of I the convention.
