VISITING GUESTS ENTERTAINED EXTENSIVELY Miss Dorothy Silversteen is enter taining at her home "Silvermont," her friends, Miss Florence Murray, of Germantown, Pa., and Miss Anne Wood, of Bluefield, \V. Va., the lat ter having just returned from a World cruise. The visiting young ladies have been quite extensively entertained during their slay in Brevard, having attended the Cabaret on the opening night in Asheville. and were guests of honor at a dinner party given by Mrs. A. G. Kyle at her home Satur day evening. A trip to Mt. Pisgah formed another enjoyable feature of entertainment, while other social functions in honor of the distinguish ed visitors are being planned for this week. NELL CASE CELEBRATES BIRTHDAY An enjoyable social affair anioi.g the younger set was the birthday party given by Nell Case Friday aft ernoon at her home, in celebration of her fourteenth birthday anniver sary. A pretty color scheme in pink and green was carried out, the dining room being tastefully decorated for the occasion. Games were played and refreshments served during the afternoon. BUSINESS WOMEN'S CLUB TO DINE IN HENDERSON VILLE Members of the Brevard Business and Professional Women's club have been invited to dine with the Hen dersonville club Tuesday night at 7 o'clock at the Skyland Hotel, of that city. A good program has been arrang ed for the occasion, and Miss Dob son, president of the Asheville club, will be present, giving a report from the national convention which she at tended in July. Little Bessie Ssms has returned home after a pleasant visit to Ros man. Henry Arrowood is in the Angle Hospital, at Franklin. He has un dergone a very serious operation of the head. Mrs. Arrowood and L. Sanders motored to Franklin Sunday to visit Mr. Arrowood. Mae, Dock and Harold Willbank; of Asheviile, were home for the week-end. Mr. and Mrs. Jean Siler spent the week-end with Mrs. Siler's mother at Reids. Blanche Arrowood has returned home after a few days' visit in Bre vard. Levis Howard spent the week-end in Brevard. We are glad to report that Mr. B. Alexander is improving. Mr. and Mrs. Thad Siler were called to a burial Sunday at Oakland of Homer Siler's baby boy. ? Mr. and Mrs. M. A. Mr. Harris, who has been holding a meeting at the school house, closed his meeting Saturday night.
