son, Paul, who are spending the
summer in Sylva, spent the week-end
in Brevard. Mr. Jones is an instruc
tor in the Cullowhee summer school
for teachers.
Dick Breese, who is connected

phis, Tenn., spent several days the
first of the week with his parents,

NUMBER OF FRIENDS
Carlton Parker entertained a
small number of friends at his
home, the Parker House, on Mon
day evening. Dancing was enjoyed
throughout the evening during which
Jemqnade was served. String music
was furnished for the dancing.
MISS SITTON HOSTESS

About twenty couples accepted
the kind hospitality of Miss Helen
Sitton Tuesday evening when she
entertained with a lovely dance, at
her hone on the Hendersonville
Highway.
The home was decorated with :
summer flowers, adding much to th.e
beauty of the dance.
Dancing was enjoyed until a late
hour in the evening, during which
the hostess served delightful re

HOMEMAKERS CLASS MEETS
WITH MRS. GALLOWAY
Mrs. Avery Galloway was hostess
to the members of the Homemakers
class of the Baptist church on last
Tuesday afternoon.
The meeting opened by singing
the class song, Blest Be the Tie That
Binds, followed by the scripture
reading by Mrs. Grogan from the
sixth chapter of Ephesians. Sentence
prayers were offered by the mem
bers.

sion which was presided over by the
president, Mrs. S. W. Radford,
I many matters of interest wgre dis
cussed, the chief interest coming
from this general discussion was
to pound a very needy family in the
town. Mrs. W. S. Price and Mrs. H.
E. Erwin were appointed to deliver
the articles donated to the family.
| The class has been doinn much
good in this way by giving help and
happiness where needed.
