JN MEMORY OF
JAMES EDWARD LOWE
On Wednesday, March 26, 1924, the
death angel suddenly came and took
from our midst our dear and beloved
friend, James Edward Lowe.
' He was a faithful Christian, always
striving to work for his Master! He
was our B. Y. P. U, leader, always in
his place and ready, to do his part.
-He has run his race and finished his
tasks. We believe that he has gone
to his Heavenly Home, there to re
ceive that welcome plaudit, "Well
done, thou good and faithful servant,
enter thou into rhe joys of the Lord."
Ed leaves behind him. many friends
and loved one.; to mourn their loss.
Our loss 'is his eternal gain.
The funeral service was conducted
by -Rev. ikorji' C'.cer. of the Cowee
Baptist Church.
There in the -cemetery he was laid
to, re: t ' under .a mound, of beautiful
fir, v ers to await "the 'great judgment
morning, 'when the last trumpet
sounds and the Lord shall come to
claim his own. Let us all' strive to
be ready to travel that journey with
tlie Savicr, Ed and all our loved ones.
When the Savior comes we shall re
ceive a crown of glory that fadeth
not. BERTHA GIBSON.
In Memory of Our Brother-In-Law,
ConleyJ Morrison
Life's weary toils are ended;
Gone is the fleeting breath,
Dimm'd is the bright eyes' splendor,
'Cold is his form in death.
Beyond death's dark river of sorrow
The promises in vision you see.
The face, of your, precious, ldved one
So anxiousiy waiting for thee.
Far iiTvthe golden Some-Where,
Over beyond the death sea,
'Mid the shining angels,
Sister; he is waiting for thee.
Sad was 'the hour of parting,
Here he can come no more,
Still we hope to meet him,
Safe on the golden shore. ,"
After all the weary waiting
In his 'peaceful rest to share,
No more need of anguish parting,
You will know each other there.
When in the 'springtime of beauty,
Jesus called his spirit home;
lie could linger here' no longer,
For the guiding one had come.
As his beckoning hand extended,
Bidding you the last farewell
Then he crossed them o'er his bosom,
And he sweetly passed away. ;
Sweetly he sleeps in. Jesus,
Never to. wake or weep,
Sister, behold your loved one,
Sleeping hi last long sleep.

In Memory of Our Losing
Father, John Logan Tallent
, Our Community was deeply grieved
on Tuesday night, March 25th, by the
death of our dear father, Logan Tal
lent. The death angel came Tuesday
night fifteen minutes until twelve
o'clock, and took oude6rather. out
of his dreadful pain and suffering.
Logan Tallent was born September
6. 1851, and died March 25,. 1924, age
72 years, 6 months and 19 days. He
was a faithful member of the Iotla
Methodist Church. He leaves, a -wife,
nine children, and a host of friends
and relatives to mourn his departure.
He was sick only two weeks, but
he bore his suffering patiently and
prayed for the good Lord to take him
out of his suffering.
The Lord gives and the Lord tak
cth, blessed be the .name of the
Lord. His children were all by his
bedside at the time of his death ex"
ccpt three daughters, one living in
'the State of Washington, one in Vir
ginia and one in South Carolina. !
We cannot think of our father be
ing in a strange land, for he has
none to join his many, friends and
loved ones up in glory. While his
presence is greatly missed in the
home and in the community,, we have
sweet assurance, that our loss is his
eternal gain. He was a kind and lov
ing father, friend, and neighbor, and
Ifvcd by all who knew him. He was
always ready and willing to help in
time of need.
Oh! How we will miss .him, he
was so kind. He met all with a kind
and encouraging word. May God
bless our dear mother and our broth
ers and sisters. And may we all lead
a life that when it is ours to go we
will meet our. dear father in that
Paradise of God.
His body was laid to rest in be
