Union County farmers not only plant all the home-grown lespedeza seed ,that they can secure b.ut they also buy a carload or two each year because of the value of the crops as a soil improver. County Agent T. J. Broom reports that he recently dis tributed 2, 000 bushels of purchased seed. Indications are that this will be a gocd year to home-mix fertilizers, say agricultural workers of State College. Some farmers have found they can save as much as ten dollars a ton buying the raw materials and mixing at home. The, up and downs of the hog sup ply seem to favor the North Carolina farmer thlA year.
