Hon. Sam L. Rogers, a member of
thP wage commission is now in
Raleigh attending a meeting of this
commission.
Work of painting and replastering
the court house is progressing 'nicely.
The county commissioners deserve
and are receiving the thanks of all
'progressive citizens of the county
for these improvements. For years
the court house and jail were allowed
to go to rack and ruin until the pres
ort, wide awake commissioners as
sumed charge of county affairs.
It now appears that thP present
golf course, will not be available dur
ing the coming season.; It is also
unlikely that the Board of Trade wiJJ
not be interested in building auoUaM"
course. Those who desire a jjbfr
.course should gover'n themselves accordingly.

pounds of poultry has been marketed
co-operatively by poultry producers
of North Carolina in carlots under
the supervision of the State Division
of Markets. Other carloads have
been shipped by groups of farmers
working with county agents of the
Agricultural Extension Service.
