Ul A UUUVftilUll ft of Summons PAGE TWO Sanatorium, April 20, The new State Prison Sanatorium, the first of its kind in the United States, opened April 18 with eleven tuberculous prisoners)!, Three of the prisoners are whitc 8 colored. It is a division of the North Carolina Sanatorium under the supervision . of the Sana torium management. Th,, prisoner patients will be kept under guard, but otherwise they will receive the same care and ' treatment that the other tuberculous persons at the State Sanatorium do. The building is a moacrn fireproof construction, com bining a prison's barred window:, with the main features of a sana . torium. The f!oard of Directors of the North Carolina Sanatorium met at . thP institution April IS, Dr. T. W. M. . Long, Roanoke, Rapids, Chairman, presiding. The usual routine business was conducted. The new member of the Board, Mr. A. B. Croom of Wiltn- . ington, did not attend th meeting, because the tune between his ap pcintincnt and the meet:!'g had been so k.nort. ' c. COMING Mr. Charles Crawford Poindexter . of the University of North Carolina .will make the commencement ad dress of the Iotla High school. Mr. Poindexter's home is on Iotla and he is an alumnus of the Iotla High ; school, graduating in the spring of 1919.. He has been at the University of North Carolina for six years. During these years he has dis tinguished himself as a student and an athlete. His reputation as a foot ball player is known throughout the .south. Mr. Poindexter is graduating this spring from the University of North Carolina with an A. B. and a LLB degrees. His address will be of interest to very one and the public is cordially invited to come out and hear him. MacDowell Music Club ( The 1915 MacDowell club met with .Jfrs.
