The Greatest Commandment "Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and 'wit A all thy mind." . . This commandment was given the place of supreme importance by ' the greatest of all teachers. Let us. there fore, study it most carefully. Why shouldfwe have so great a love for our Heavenly ,Father? Iiiit just because He created us? The scrip tures tell us that, in tin; time-of his afflictions Job wished t?.;U he had jievr lived r.nd "sinned not witn his lips." It is. not for the gift of 'mere existence but for the hope of a joyful future that we should feel most love and gratitude toward the Almighty. "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son. that who soever believeth ,on Him should not perish but have everlasting life." . Another reason for giving God our sincerest love is- because of what he is. In Him all the. good qualities which we admire in great men are found in unmeasured quantity yet in perfect balance. In us poor mortals much harm comes from one good quality being developed out of proportion to others. To make clear what I mean let us have an illustration. A parent's, heart often contains more jove than courage-. As a result the patent does not give the son needed punishments and his1 love for the son is no better in its results than mere indulgence. In God's character allgood charact erstics are as we said, found in the right balance. Therefore we can find in Him the only perfectly safe and perfectly grand ideal. If we copy His character into our lives we must con stantly run away from all that is weak, transient, and sinful and fill our souls with "things eternal." By so doing we. are led tn the way that means supreme happiness for us. - We love God because, instead of depriving us of , happiness' as the world supposrs, the Christian is gfvtrn "life more abundantly." But in lov ing Him we should not forget that we are to love with soul and mind as. well as with our hearts. If we love in this way we will think on church problems even more earnestly than we study business propositions. $350 IN GOLD $150 First Prize $50 Third Prize 3-J10 Fifth Prizes $75 Second Prize $25 Fourth Prize 4-$5 Sixth Prizes ' Qreat Word-zMahng Qontest DRUID' WHILLS i A SuCurah Village" How many correct English words can you make of the letters in DRUID HILLS, "A Suburban Village"?, Every man and woman, over 25 years of age, (except our employees or members of their fam ilies), is eligible for this contest. It shows what a local furniture concern can do against the strong est competition in the United States. , And you can put this fact in your pipe and smoke it. If we can. save Uncle Sam money, why, we can save you money. Try us out on that assertion. Here arethe reasons. We have a direct connection with manufacturers, thus dodging the middleman's margin. We have figured our profit at the minimum, and depend on a fast turnover and an augmented volume to bring us through. And we are glad to say, our business increase is justifying this policy. - If you have an order to place for any kind of furniture or furnishings, get our bid.
