A16 Mr. and Mrs. Randolph Bulgin have arrived from Fort Myers, Fla., where they spent the winter. Mr. and Mrs. Bulgin will visit friends and relatives here for some time. They have not yet decided whether they will stay here during the summer or go to Long Island. Mr. Bulgin states that Florida is coming to the moun tains of this section in a mighty mi gration this spring and summer. Last Saturday a big fire at the Nor wood Lumber company's plant at Forney did damage estimated at $100, 000 Some of the mill buildings and three residences were burned to the ground. It is . doubtful whether the plant will be rebuilt. Mr. J. T. Killen of Lakeland, Fla spent a dajt. or two last week with his niece, Mrs. Smith Harris. He was on his way to Asheville to take part of the creat dcyelooments owned by Mr. J. T. Horncy. Mr. KiUen reports that '-the.. Borida people' can talk of nothing but western North .Carolina. Mr. W. B. Garrison, postal inspec tor, made a visit of inspection to the Franklin office last .week. He reports the records of the office in good shape. Mr. Crawford, father of. Mrs. W L. McCoy, has returned to Franklin after spending four months in Flor ida. ' Miss Martha Creighton of the U. S and state home economics ' depart ments came to Franklin last week on business connected with her office While here, Miss Creighton made some investments in Franklin real es tate, she being delighted with' condi tions here. Attorney T. I. Johnston and Mr. Frank Murray spent a few days .in Haywood county last week. Mr. Murray brings good reports from that county regarding the race of Mr. Johnston for judge ot the 4Jth judi cial district. Mr. Gaston Curtis went to Sylva Saturday night and returned with Mrs. Curtin who soent the week-end in Franklin. Mrs. Curtis is. attending the state normal school at Lullowliee Last Saturday -at noon, Mr. J.- W Street, foreman in the composing room of The Press, received a long distance call that his father had just dropped dead at his home in Atlanta. J Smith has been holding a revival meeting at Cullowhee. Rev. Smith filled his regular appointment at the Baptist church here last Simday and returned immediately to Cul'owhee The meeting at Cullowhee will prob ably end this week.
