PACE TWO THE FRANKLIN PRESS FRIDAY, JULY 30, 132S Eastern Star lo Stage Two Comedies Aug. 4th No raatter what our business in this queer old world of ours, some times fairly unbearable with staVe-nx-nts, bills and notes, and yet again quite golden after unexpected deals, evidence of rare business acumen, or ewy mornings on the mountains, or a "yes" from an affianced bride, no nutter what our work or disposition, there is an ever present urge for play. The five-year-old youngster finds it in rolling down hill, or dodging an other infant in a game, the house wife may find it in making lemon pies instead of mud ones but we mortals rest find it somewhere, somehow. So the theatre grew, arid so the little Theatre Movement, or ama teur theatricals have taken a place in enr commonwealth in every man's Efe. Here in Franklin , on Wednesday, the fourth of August, two wholesome, natural, delicious, comedies will be presented by Franklin citizens girls and boys, business men and women. Here is a chance to express through others, for audiences always act as much as actors, our latent tendencies. Here is a chance to show that Frank lin is instep with small towns all over America a chance to thoroughly en joy yourself for an entire evening; laugh away your troubles or rekindle your joys. Let us see how Franklin will re spond. Remember, August 4th. A very pleasing number was "The Toy Shop" in which the dif ferent toys came to life and danced. Miss Lois 'Briggs gave a lovely toe dance called "Fantasie," "The Mo diste Shop" was another attractive number. I Land of Modern Miracles In the United States there are 16,500,000 telephones, 17,000,000 have pleasure cars, . 16,000,000 have phono graphs, and 6,000,000 have radios. Kadio business this year is expected to reach $600,000,000, a gain of $100, 000,000 over 1925. Until as . many homes have radios as now have phonographs or phones there is bound to be an unexploited, unfilled new field in which to sell radio supplies and service., Every farm in the nation is a prospect for the radio, for nothing puts the farmer in touth with the markets more quickly.
