ACTORS PLAYING IN
"CARRYIN' ON" ARE
MEMBERS OF LEGION
The actors in The American Legion
motion picture "Carryin' On" which
will be shown at" the Idle Hour
Theatre on Friday and Saturday
nights are members of Hollywood
Post No. 43, of Hollywood, California,
and all donated their services, which
would have cost many thousands of
dollars at the rate of their usual sal
aries. The picture was brought here
by Macon Post No. 108 of the Ameri
can Legion.
The principle roles in the picture
are taken by Walter Long and Bert
Lytell. Long takes the part or Walter
McKay, the former service man who
is discovered to be down and out,
hungry and without work. Lytell, star
iii "The Lone Wolf Returns," co-star
id "Guilded Butterfly" and many other
plays, takes the part of the Legion
naire in "Carryin' On." .
Many other noted actors comprise
the. Legion post meeting, because it
is a picture of Hollywood post, and
a large number of the ex-service
men of the motion picture .colony, arc
members of that post.
The war scenes in the picture are
real, being photographed during the
World war. Men are killed by high
explosive shells a few dozen yards in
front , of the camera. "The picture of
General Pershing saluting also was
taken when he was overseas in the
war.
