PAGE EIGHT TII2 FEANXLIN THURSDAY JUNE 39, 1S27 NO FIRE IN NEARLY 3 YEARS It has been nearly three years since Franklin witnessed its last fire. .Shortly after that blaze, considerable fire fighting equipment was purchased. :Since that time, . this equipment has iheeii usedin fire dirlls. , It had been so long since a fire here that, Tuesday afternoon, when the siren issued its shrill cry 'of alarm, the town turned out en masse to view the blaze turned out, only to be dis appointed. The lire was in an old gullcy, used as the municipal dumping ground! Re fuse got afire, and it was thought for a few moments that nearby hous es were ,cndangercd.
