Flint Mich., was announced today by' R. H. Grant, vice-president in charge of sales of the Chevrolet Motor company. This reduction was made possible by volume production growing out of the tremendous demand on the part of the public everywhere for this "Most Beautiful Chevrolet" when it was first introduced in May of this year, Mr. Grant explained. "Seldom has the industry seen the warm and enthusiastic public response that, greeted the initial offering of the Imperial Landau, which at that time was priced at $780," Mr. Grant stated. Mr. Reid Rogers, of Thonotosasso, Fla., arrived Monday to spend three weeks with his mother, Mrs. Sam Rogers. . Miss Babbie Jones left this week for RaleipV, where . she will attend high schoo. and be with her aunt, Miss Laura Jones. , Mr. William McGuirc left this week to re-enter Davidson college. Other college students will be leaving shortly for various institutions. Miss Ora Sue Hunnicutt entertained last week with a bridge luncheon, honoring her guest, Mrs. Charles B. Sweet. The guests enjoyed playing bridge on the lawn during the morn ing. Then a delicious luncheon was served. Miss Emily Kingsbery re ceived high score and Miss Cornelia Smith low score. Mrs. W. W. Sloan entertained her Sunday school class with a treasure? hunt one day last week. All joined' in the eager search for the treasure,, which' when found, proved to be a shower of gifts from each member of the class for Miss Elizabeth Smith; and Mis Katherin Porter, two mem bers of the class, who are starting to college this year. All enjoyed the shock and surprise of the honored guests when they received their gifts Delicious refreshments, consisting of ' fruit salad and crackers, were served.. On Labor Day the laboring people generally rest, but Steve Porter says, that Labor Day this year meant only long hours of work for him and his; corps of clerks. Mass., who has been superintendent of construction during the erection of Mr. George Wurst's apartment house, The Orlando, has made many friends dur ing his stay in Franklin.
