Since . then Mrs. Bell has suffered an attack of typhoid fever. She is with her parents in this sec tion, Mr. and Mrs. Sam Stockton. Dr. Williams is waiting on her. The Skeenah school commenced Monday. '. J. L. Sanders, George Car penter, and Miss McCrackin are the teachers. Mr.-G. A. Stockton spent the last two weeks at home with his family. He went back to South Carolina to work Monday. Several of the young people includ ing! Quince, Lake, Jess, Gertrude Shope and others motored to the Wayah Bald, Saturday, and camped. ' RAINBOW SPRINGS Mr.x and Mrs Ray Williams and son, accompanied by Mrs. Howard Bateman, motored over to Franklin on Wednesday of last week for shop ping. Mrs. Howard Bateman is spending several days with her parents at Jud son. She "is expected home this week. . Mr. Jake Cabe of Proctor arrived at Rainbow Springs on Monday of last week to take charge of the plan ing mill as . machinist. Mrs. Ed Cruse, who has been con fined to the house for some time, due to ill health, is reported to be much improved and is able to sit up. There has been heavy traffic pass ing through our little city the past week between s Murphy and Franklin since the section of new Highway 28 east of Rainbow Springs was opened. Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Danielson went to Franklin for shopping last week. Mr. James Bennett made a business trip to Franklin last Saturday evening. Mr. George Clayton, mill engineer, motored over to Andrews to spend the week-end with his family. Mr. Jim Woodard returned last Sunday evening from Almond after spending the week-end with his par ents. ' - "'. The Crawfords of Macon and Clay counties held their reunion at the Black Place on Sunday, July 13. There was a. large number present. Dinner was enjoyed by all on the lawn. If we are to hold two teach ers for our school it will require the cooperation of parents, pupils and teachers. Some children have moved away since last term. Dr. W. A Rogers was called to see little James Mashburn last Thurs day. Verlon and Ennis Mashburn spent Wednesday night with ' their grand parents on Peek's creek. Party Is Entertained By Mrs. Bertha Jennings Mrs. Bertha Jennings of Prentiss entertained her brothers and friends from Canton on July 5 with various kinds of games in the morning and in the afternoon with a swimming contest. Afterward -ice cream was served. After supper the party gath ered at the home of Mrs. Jennings' sister, Mrs. R. N. Donaldson, where they all joined in on old-time singing.
