Careful Attention Given Legal Matters In All Court of Law and Equity Evns Not 'Slingia? Filed' But Running , For Clerk Franklin, N. C, Oct. 27; 1930. "HELLO FOLKS," or I should have said "FELLOW CITIZENS" but I am no politician, and I'll 'let it go at that. I am running anyway. I am in the race for Clerk of the Superior Court and I am asking the voters of Ma con county for their sufferage. 1 have never asked the people for any office before, having been teach ing for many years and have not had time to engage m politics. However my friends, have asked me to put my name on the ticket and I am in the fray, I am not "slinging mud nor am I holding up the record of any one to get into office, but it is my opinion that, eight or even four years, is enough for any one to hold an office. There ii no need to go into details, it is plain to every one that these are the facts. Therefore, I wish to say to all, if I am successful I will not ask you to continue to give me the honor for as many years as David ruled over Judah and Israel, but will serve you the best I can for a reason able time and step down for some other good man to take the place. I would have liked very much to have talked to all xi you, I. have been trying to this week and last. Two weeks, were all the time that I could reasonably ask to get away from my school work. So you see I have made an honest effort. I am hoping next Tuesday, Nov, 4, will bring its rewards. If so, I promise to make you a faithful ser vant and will always perform the duties reposed in me to the best of my ability. Thank you, 1 am, (Adv.) E. N. EVANS.
