Waynetvllle Council
The Waynesville council No. 1373
which was organized August 10,
1911, has 277 members with more
than a dozen applicants ready for
their degree work.
With in the past year the Wayn
esville council has made another
record in memberships. It is now
the largest in point of member
ship out of more, than 500 councils
with a total membership of 50,000
in North Carolina.
The secret of the Waynesville
council growth is this: In 1929
they divided the lodge into two
teams. The teams were to work
for new members for a year's pe
riod;-at tie end of the year the
losing team had to give the wm
ning team a banquet. This, di iv c
has been in force for three years
and the results , are worth while.
1 am going to offer a sugges

the county. Take the roll book,

the lodge's membership into two

two and so on doyi through the
membership. By-'doing this there
will be no rimcback-as having the
best workeifcon one team. Then
let each teavl elect a captain and
the fight is bn. .
If we will H do our part at the
end of 1932 e should have at least
200 new members within the coun
ty with at least $100,000 more in
surance in force within the county.
As the asnrils organize and be
gin work A-Vould like to have
each tcan: its captain's"' name.
