SNYDER TO BE HELD TODAY Funeral services will be held this afternoon at 2 o'clock at Jarrett Memorial Baptist church, Dills - boro, for Mrs. Lola Sherrill Sny der, who died at her home in Dills boro Tuesday afternoon following a long illness. Rev. W. Q. Grigg will have charge of the services and will be assisted by Rev. W. X. Cook. Interment will be in Harris cemetery. She was bi<m at Webster and had lived in the county all ol her life except a few years in Washington and several years at Old Fort where her husband was engaged in the merchantile busi ness. She is survived by her husband, "Charles A. Snyder; three sisters, Mrs. T. H. Mashburn, Blue Ridge, Ga., M rs. Guy Hipps, Canton, Mrs. P. W. Kineaid, Dillsboro; and one brother, M. A. SCIENCE OF MILK PRODUCTION TO BE SHOWN PRODUCERS The Science of Milk Production, ;i sensational new movie, will lx? shown at the court house in Sylva Friday night, March 21 at 7:45 o'clock under the joint sponsor ship ot the County Farm Agents and County Health Department. Dairymen, farmers and others in terested in milk production are in vited to sec the picture. You will witness a remarkable milk-making demonstration, the Iikc of which has never been shown before. The production of the picture is the work of Dr. W. S. Peterson, professor of Dairy llu.>bandry at the University of Minnesota, and one of America's foremost physiologists of the dairy cow. The picture is a full color, talking movie which takes you into the University Laboratory and Dairy Unit?yet, even inside the cow herself. You will see and hear Dr. Peterson as he points out the crucial steps in milk production from raw materials to finished product. He will also present his four famous rules on how to get more milk-capacity output from each cow?as developed from con clusive research and tests in the laboratory and on the farm. Tiv. picture is receiving much praise from the dairymen and farmers of all sections of the state. Although it is being shown free it contains much valuable informa tion and should be seen by all milk producers and handlers in the county. MRS. S. BRYSON RITES HELD AT CASHIERS CHURCH SUNDAY Funeral services were held at the Cashiers Methodist church Sunday afternoon for W. J. Bry son, 76, who passed away Satur day morning at l ie Baptist hospital in Six Miles, S. C. The Rev. Roy of Brevard College officiated. Bur. ial was in the family cemetery at Cashiers. The body lay in state at the church for one hour pr.or to the funeral. Pallbearers were Holmes Bry son, Jr., Carson Bryson, Craijght. McCali, Albert Wilson,"Ed and Da vid Brown. Mr. Bryson, a native of Cashiers, was the son of the late Jemes New ton Bryson and Elizabeth Coates Bryson. He was a retired railroad conductor, having been employed by the Seaboard Airline Railway for thirty-six years. He was a member of the Masonic Order, a Snriner, and a member of the Brotherhood of Railway Conduc tors. He is survived by one sister, Mrs. Minnie Cole, of Cashiers; two dou ble first cousins, Holmes Bryson of BETTY ANN QUEEN WINNER OF LEGION ESSAY CONTEST Miss Betty Ann Queen, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Queen of Dillsboro and member of the Jun ion class of the Sylva High school, was "winner in the American Le gion Essay contest which was held Wednesday at the regular chapel period of the Sylva school. Miss Queen's winning essay was entitled "The History of Our Constitution," - and she gave a graphic picture of : the working of the Constitution j Her opponent, Guy House of] Qualla and a member of the Senior | class, had chosen for his essay, "Our Living Constitution." Miss Queen was awarded a $25.00 War Bond by the American Legion Post 104 and will be pre sented a medal by the Sylva High school at commencement. She will go lo'Andrews next week to en ter the district contest. The essay contest, which is spon Asheville and Dr. E. J. Bry#on of Liberty, S. C.; and several rela tives in Jackson county. sored annually by the American Legion, is open to juniors and sen iors of the high schools of the county. District winners enter the state contest and then the national contest. Mrs. Sadie J. Long and Mrs. Harry Buchanan of Henderson ville spent Sunday with their son and brother, J. R. Long, and his family. Mrs. Long, who has been with Mrs. Buchanan in Hender sonville for some time, joined an other daughter, Mrs. J. R.
