Miss Stillwell Receives B.A. Degree From Meredith RALEIGH, June 2?Miss Eliza beth Stillwell, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E. P. Stillwell of Sylva, was graduated this morning from Meredith. College with the degree of Bachelor of Arts. She has car ried a major in public school music. Miss Stillwell has been active in campus activities, serving as presi dent of the McDowell Music Club, and a member of the glee club, the Student League of Women Voters, the choir, and the International Relations Club. She has had the scholastic honor of having been placed on the Dean's List. She plans to return to Meredith next year to study for a second degree, the Bachelor of Music. Members To Spend Day In Smokies On Sunday, June 15, at 8:30 a. m. members, wives, and children of the local Woodmen of the World Camp No. 560, are asked to meet at the W.O.W. hall to depart shortly after 8:30 a. m. to a design nated place in the Great Smoky Mountains National park, where there will be Sunday School and preaching service, followed by a picnic dinner. Every one is> asked to bring sandwiches or whatever they wish for the picnic. Drinks will be furnished by the camp. After the lunch a parade of automobiles well decorated with W.O.W. colors will proceed ta other parts of the Smokies. All the Woodmen are urged to come and make it a big day. CORRECTION The veteran farmers* classes, which are under the direction of Mr. John F. Corbin, agriculture instructor at Sylva high school, are held in the agriculture building at Sylva high school, not in Waynes ville as the Herald reported last week. The veterans are, however, going to Waynesville this Satur day morning to visit the test farm as one of the weekly field trips which have been planned for the summer. Police Will Check Doors Of All Business Places Chief of Police Karl Warlick stated Monday that his department will check the doors of all business places in town each day after clos ing time to see that none are left unlocked.
